Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance will be hosting a Donor Registration drive on Sunday, February 20th, at our Headquarters, 4623 Avenue N, from 11 AM to 4 PM.
Similar to blood donations, bone marrow donations can save lives. Bone marrow, the part of the body that produces red blood cells, can be damaged by cancer or it’s treatment, such as chemotherapy or radiation. There are registries that hold DNA information that can be used to find an appropriate match, collected by a simple swab inside the cheek.
