Flatlands

Start your sirens!

It’s shiny, it’s new, and it’s all thanks to the generosity of Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein (D-Midwood). The Brooklyn legislator secured $125,000 in state funds so that Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps could purchase a brand new, siren blaring, road hugging ambulance.

“I could not think of no greater use of state funds than to support the Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps,” our pal Helene told Standing O.

Ambulance Corps volunteers were verklempt at the gift.

“For 20 years, Helene has always been here for us,” Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps Captain Joe Marcellino told Standing O. “It has been an honor and a privilege working for such a fantastic individual.”

Standing O is verklempt just writing about it all!
